Quilted Table Runner?

I have flirted for a while with many ideas that incorporate memories of my grandma and grandpa in my wedding. I would love to have some sort of snap dragons and/or bleeding hearts in the flowers somewhere even if only once.

My grandma, Rosalie, loved to quilt and was a very talented seamstress back in her day. She was constantly finishing a project of her own and helping me along in many of my own sewing adventures. She was involved in a quilting club and I remember sorting through many (many, many..) quilts that were clad in pillowcase coverings, muchlike clowns out of a clown car, that she had spent who knows how many years creating/collecting/etc. Tonight I thought it would be really neat to make simple, quilted, table runners. Maybe later I could converge the strips into a nice wedding quilt to remind us of our day?

I thought light, breezy cottons in pale colors like ivory, champaigne, some patterns, mostly retro, but coordinating in composition. Sound good?

I haven't talked to my sister in what seems like ages! I am definitely going to have to drop her the link to this site for bachelorette party fun! The future hubs has already told me he's not having a bachelor party, but I say why not? I trust him... not his friends so much *teehee- Love you, Justin.* A guys night out wouldn't be so bad. Besides, I want a lady's night and what's good for the goose... HooOnkK! Wow, lay off the caffeine, right?!

These paper ideas may be good inspiration for it or for the theme??

Goodwill

Should I feel guilty about buying dishes some people may need to use for their everyday meals? Tonight my mom and I went to Goodwill and I absolutely PILLAGED their supply of dishes.

1-Saucers and small plates for dessert plates.
2-Tiny little bowls for ice cream.
3-Several different mugs--Hopefully I can find some way to incorporate a coffee maker into the decor??

I am so excited to find some really cheap dishes! I also picked up a handful of mason jars (some with handles) and vases to add to my ever-growing collection of wedding glass. The jars and vases and such are going to be filled with mounds of Baby's Breath and some with candles and sand. I have yet to find an inspiration picture that totally imbibes the sort-of retro (recycled) conglomeration of glass I have going for the centerpieces.

Hand Graphics :)

Sorry for the lack of posting, but I am working on some things by hand with the inspiration I've found online. This means: sketchbook pages flying, pencil sharpener needing a new blade, ink and graphite smudged cheeks, random bridal magazine pages scattered about the living room, etc!!! Hopefully what it also means is a ton of new ideas and a vision for the actual layout for the wedding.

Guess what I'll also continue to sketch out?? My new name! I will be going from a 7-letter last name to a, GET THIS: 12-letter last name... OMG! Teehee! Doesn't hinder the giddiness! =D
